Hearing aids once acted as a barrier to the use of personal audio devices. If a person who wore in-the-ear (ITE) hearing aids wanted to listen to music through their earphones, for example, they would’ve had to remove their hearing aids to put in their earbuds. But thanks to the incredible advancements in hearing aid technology, those days of chopping and changing between devices are long gone, and you can now play music seamlessly through your hearing aids with Bluetooth. Better yet, you can also connect your Bluetooth hearing aids directly to your smart TV, making it easier to enjoy your fav

Frequently asked questions

Are Bluetooth hearing aids safe?

It’s understandable that people may have concerns about the safety of Bluetooth hearing aids – after all, they sit next to your head for anywhere between eight and 16 hours each day. But rest assured, Bluetooth hearing aids are completely safe to use. Bluetooth technology uses radio frequency (the same as TV and radio) and does not emit dangerous radiation. Rather, it gives off non-ionising radiation, which is also emitted by Wi-Fi and mobile phones, and does not pose a health risk. Additionally, remember that hearing aids with Bluetooth are regulated medical devices that must comply with strict government safety standards.

How do I know if my hearing aids have Bluetooth?

When you purchase your hearing aids, your Bay Audiology specialist will be able to advise whether they have in-built Bluetooth technology and show you how to pair with your smartphone or devices, as well as guide you through the Amplifon app.

How much do Bluetooth hearing aids cost?

As with all things, the cost of Bluetooth hearing aids can vary. While we offer a range of hearing aids for all budgets the price does increase for devices with more advanced technology.
